Re: locking threads

i bet they regret throwing you off shed 5 Ben    :suspicious: Why did he get thrown off ?? I got removed because its for single owner drivers. Thats all. I would like to correct some wrong information about Shed 5 if I may? Shed 5 is not just for 'single owner drivers' and many of ou...

Why do people have so much trouble with insurance?

Some people seem to find it very hard to understand that you need motor insurance which includes hire and reward use, as well as separate insurance for goods in transit cover. Before anyone can register on my exchange they have to fill in this form, and actually type the word 'yes' in the two boxes ...

Re: Why would you?

A lot of owner drivers don't think of themselves as being in business and they don't want to be in business. They just want to work. They don't understand how the transport industry works so they don't understand the difference between normal subcontracting, clearing houses and exchanges. People on ...

Re: Lifeblood

Do what I do and bend the ear of any politician you can about the evils of fake self employment. They are all banging on about zero hours contracts but very few of them understand that thousands of people are forced into self employment because it's the only way to get work. It's a constant complain...

Re: Looking at giving it a go..

GIT stands for goods in transit, and GIT insurance covers the goods being carried. It will probably cost between £100 and £200 and usually includes public liability. Your 'road risk' insurance is usually called motor insurance, and in courier land is often referred to as hire & reward insurance or H...

Re: Definitive list of Logistics Billboards

i think i know who you mean, so i wouldn't be able to put vehicle capacity for the truck? Do i have to own it then? It's hard to pin everything down in black and white terms in this business, but the general principle of the site concerned is honesty, so if you show insurance for a 3.5 tonne van to...

Re: Definitive list of Logistics Billboards

There is one well respected exchange that caters for all sizes of vehicle from motorbike to 44 tonne trucks, but you won't be able to list vehicles that you only 'have access to.'

Re: New drug driving laws!

This has been all over the papers, TV and social media for weeks. The prescription drugs which affect driving safety have warnings on the packet.

Another way for the police to remove dangerous drivers from the road and make them safer for the rest of us.

Re: Newby gets scammed

This thread is a year old with no new scams added since then, so it's not as bad as it looks. I think Courier Expert is still going.

Shed 5 is also still going strong and doing its best to raise standards and weed out the bad guys.

I think it says enough that uship's website tells you to watch Shipping Wars on Channel 4 to see how it works. It's not for me.
If uship is Shipping Wars what are the other courier sites?

Shed 5 is The Professionals of course.
Mtvan is Alias Smith & Jones?
