Re: Is anyone still working?
Hello Alec yeah I'm good thanks, obviously my main income has been wiped out for the rest of the year, as there will be no events this year. So I've had to revert back to removals, and courier work. To be fair I've really enjoyed the pallet work,as its so easy compared to removals, just need to keep...

I'm still around, just don't post very often, as I found myself getting wound up by a lot of the comments.
So thought I'd best exercise what my mum always taught me " if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all "

Re: Thinking of doing long distance courier work.
What you doing 90mph to only get 20mpg, I get 27-28 sitting at 70mph in a jumbo splinter luton, my old tranny would do 27mpg but I had to sit at 50-55mph to get that. Well you know what it costs you to run, so surely you know how much you need to charge. Well to give an idea my standard rate for cou...

Re: Hard to compete
I don't believe type of van really makes a difference, as long as their clients don't have image issues, most are only concerned that the parcel gets to its destination in the agreed time. Then again every industry is becoming harder to compete in, so people will always look for a way to come in che...

Re: Auction sites make me laugh
Cash still has to go though the books though, just involves a little trip to the bank to put it in, and then pay a fee for paying your own money into the bank

Something needs looking at as the forums are dead compared with how they use to be.

The other issue is when its a named house, and its not visable from the road or even non exsistant, does my head in

Re: Too proud to push?
I got stuck behind a volvo at a roundabout last year which had broken down, clutch gone, so I got out to help the lady, no one else bothered to come and help push it, but they were all happy to hoot at me and her, till I told them to (i'm a secret member of a sexual identity crisis forum) off, as I ...
