Well forget the newer shape sprinter for a start, not as economical as the old one, so I am going by the old one.
I have driven both, and the gear change in the sprinter is far more comfortable than the floor mounted in the transit(the one I have!), although the newer transit is also dash mounted.
The sprinter feels a more solid van although you will be paying more if owt goes wrong with the sprinter.
If you want a 4m van then the sprinter wins hands down but like I have the 3.2m transit would be my suggestion, a good all rounder especially if you have a high top.
So it depends what you are after. hope that helps! |

Whats better Red Heads or blondes.
Its all down to personal opinion, I find the transits work for me as they are more comfirtable to drive, cheaper to repair when they go wrong.
Personally has to be trannies |

Well I'll give you a serious answer unlike the others who seem to be linking your questions to their recent holidays or fashion trends.
SPRINTER SPRINTER SPRINTER every time and i'll not accept any reason from anyone as to why not so there |

We have got both the Sprinters payload is 950kg & on a good day does 480miles to a tank, the Transits payload is 1500kg & does 600miles to a tank (euro5 4mtre 313, 3.3mtre 140fwd transit) draw your own conclusion !
& the Transit was 7k cheaper |

It also depends on what your customers requires.
They way I look at it is this If your customer requires 4 standard pallets at 1050kg to be delivered and you only have a 3.2m transit then you have to sub it. If you are a owner driver then its possible that you won't have anyone to sub it to and you have let your customer down. |

Then its got to be the Jumbo Transit, as @ 1050kg your still going to be overloaded in the Merc unless of course ours has got heavier paint than the rest ? could always dump the spare & get polysomething plylining |
