Paying tax liability with a card?

Postby bramble43 » Saturday 4 November 2017, 12:50

As from 13th January 2018, you will not be able to pay your tax liability with a personal credit card.

This is personal tax return, vat, paye or anything else.

It's because from this date, it will no longer be legal to charge surcharges on credit and debit cards, apple pay, paypal etc and so some places are going to stop accepting them or lose the 2% ish that the payment costs them.

I'd expect dvla to follow on as they currently charge £2.50 for credit card payments.
