Overweight on cheese

Postby bramble43 » Tuesday 31 October 2017, 18:30

A van driver was pulled over by police as he had too much cheese on board.

Officers found the vehicle was 41% over its weight limit, in Sawtry, Cambridgeshire on Monday.

The driver was left in a pickle as the van had 2,822lb (1,280kg) more cheese than it was allowed to carry. Officers said it had to be "removed or eaten".

During a grilling, the driver was allowed to take some of the dairy produce away but made to call in another van to take the excess.

I don't think they thought about the 'eating it' option, since the van would still weigh the same if the driver ate half a ton of cheese.

this is the same area on the A1 where a while back a lorry loaded with eggs crashed into a milk tanker and the police advised motorists to treat it as an omelette,

Not true. Remember, cheese has a very high fart content, so the weight would be dissipated as he ate it. Besides which, a smart driver would eat it, but let them re-weigh the van without him in it (they'd probably send him away down wind anyway).
